Replace the head, not the whole toothbrush.

Bamboo toothbrushes have helped to reduce plastic waste. But throwing away the whole toothbrush because the head is worn out is not a solution either. The team behind Bamji came up with a different idea: replace the head instead of the whole toothbrush, which reduces the waste of a toothbrush by 65%.

Bamji was founded in 2020 in Nijmegen, the Netherlands, with the mission to make dental care more sustainable: from single-use products to reusable ones. We are a young company, empowered by students, focused on environmentally friendly products and solutions for dental care.

Questions

Why only soft bristles?

Scientific studies show that soft bristles protect and keep your gums healthy. Firmer bristles can damage your gums.

Why are the bristles not 100% bamboo?

Our bristles are charcoal, bamboo fibre and 39% nylon. Pure bamboo bristles are not possible because of the enzymes in your mouth.
